What is a virtual conference?
A virtual conference, in its simplest definition, is an event held online. Virtual events use web-based platforms to connect dozens to thousands of attendees from across the globe and often include interactive engagement features such as polling, Q&A, chat boxes, etc.
What are the technical requirements needed to participate?
To participate, you need an Internet connection and web browser. For the best viewing experience, we recommend that you join the conference using a supported internet browser, which includes Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer is not recommended as some functions, such as chat, are not fully supported.
How do I register for the virtual conference as an attendee?
To register you need to click on REGISTER button on the top right of the virtual platform and fill-in the form. Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email of the completed registration containing the login information, in order to access your reserved area.
The login credentials will allow you to access the reserved area and browse in the Virtual Conference, attend the live sessions, visit the virtual exhibition area and contact live the exhibitors, and chat with other attendees in the networking lounge.
When is the registration deadline?
Conference registration will be open until May 27, 2021.
What is the registration fee?
The registration for attendees is FREE.
I have registered and paid for the meeting in Athens, do I get a refund?
Only presenting authors will have a reduced fee of € 150,00; a refund of the outstanding amount will be made. All other registered participants will receive a full refund.
In both cases a written request must be sent to email@example.com.
I already registered for the conference in Athens. Am I automatically registered for the virtual conference?
No, you will have to register on the platform of the virtual conference following the above instructions.
I can access the lobby but I cannot join the live sessions, nor visit the exhibition area.
These sessions are reserved to participants who logged in with the access code. Please check if you have logged in correctly by clicking on the LOGIN button on the top right of the platform. The access code was sent to all registered participants, if you registered but did not receive the access code please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I know if I am correctly logged in?
If you have logged in you will see your initials in the top bar of the platform. Only logged in participants will be able to view all the contents of the conference.
I forgot my Access code, how can I get it again?
Click on LOGIN button on the top right of the conference platform and then click on “Forgot your code”. Your code will be sent again to the email address you used to register.

When will the live sessions be on?
The live sessions will be operating according to the schedule indicated in the scientific program.
Will the sessions be interactive?
Yes, during the live streaming users are allowed to send messages through the Q&A box.
Will a certificate of attendance be available?
The certificate will be available for download on the conference platform in your reserved area after the conference.
Will there be an exhibition area?
Yes, the sponsor companies will have the possibility to have a virtual stand in the dedicated exhibition area on the virtual platform.
Will there be the possibility to contact the exhibitors?
Yes, attendees will be able to contact live the exhibitors through the chat box available in the virtual stand.
Will there be an abstract book?
Yes, the complete collection of the abstracts will be posted on the virtual conference platform.
I would like to withdraw my abstract
If you wish to withdraw your abstract, we kindly ask you to contact firstname.lastname@example.org by and not later than March 1, 2021.
Will it be possible to access the recorded material at the end of the virtual conference?
All conference content will be available for a six months period post event.
What is a Virtual bag?
Participants can access the virtual booths where they may view, download & browse content such as brochures, images and videos. Interesting items can be saved to a virtual bag which they can download later.
What is a Networking lounge?
Networking lounge gives the opportunity to attendees to chat live 1vs1 or in a group chat during live sessions. Should you prefer not be visible, please remove the flag “Allow other attendees to contact me” in your Profile Page in the reserved area.
